Final Conclusion

As this module comes to an end I would like to reflect on the past semester spent in printmaking. The module for very enjoyable although at times challanging. I think the most challenging aspect of printmaking is to make a process work for what you are trying to communicate, to be inventive and original in your thinking so that you are using a process in a new and experimental way rather than the conventional way. I have a body of work which, given more time, I would have liked to push forward and explore the idea of shape of my object. In my sketchbook I was working though ideas of outline shape of my object, creating block shapes with paper to represent this and working with found crochet lace and again cutting this into the outline shape of my fabric. Given more time I would have printed with these shapes, like stamps, a way of mono printing in an unconventional way. As a whole, the process of print is something I will continue to use and explore as the year progresses.
